Well after looking forward to a full days fishing for the best part of a week it was a bit of a shambles, the weather was great but the water was low, very low.
travelled up and down the whiteadder from spot to spot, decent sized fish everywhere but caught only one trout, very small, using a Greenwells glory fly.
Several fly changes couldn't tempt the bigger trout, I'm putting this whole day down to very very low water levels.
It wasn't all bad tho, i did see a deer and a badger, and to be out in the sun in the Scottish border countryside all day certainly beats being at work.
In a recent post i put up a photo of a scaly salmon, saw lots more like this today, also dead salmon.
Well things had better get better next time or i may have to return to Chatton to do some real trout fishing...watch this space.
